The undersigned students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of Anderson University humbly petition that our beloved Christian university take action to help provide relief to the ever-increasing number of refugees.
We believe that, as Christians, we have a responsibility to the widow, the orphan, and the stranger in our midst. Christ has called us to model compassion and sacrificial love to those in need. The global refugee crisis has provided us an opportunity to do just that.
As you are aware, Rice Hall is scheduled for demolition. What if we delayed demolition and used the facility to provide temporary shelter for victims who have been displaced by international violence? What better way is there to show our commitment to our Lord and Savior who himself was at one time a refugee fleeing violence in his homeland?
Imagine what a powerful #MyAUStory this would be!
Thank you for your consideration of this petition.
Most sincerely,
If anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?
